The mission of XBRL US, Inc. is to support the implementation of XML business reporting standards through the development of taxonomies for use by U.S. public and private sectors, with a goal of interoperability between sectors, and by promoting XBRL adoption through marketplace collaboration.

XBRL US and its members are working to support SEC Filers and to establish minimum base standards for the quality of the data in a filing. The success of an XBRL lifecycle requires a high quality taxonomy and consistent tagging and process controls to produce high quality, useful data. Access to the proper tools to create XBRL-tagged financial statements is critical.
